Overview

Displays the total cost of your workforce for a selected period of time (hourly, weekly, monthly or yearly).

The visual part can be added by simply clicking on the arrows pointing right in the top right corner, and enables filtering to generate a breakdown of the cost, based on gender, age range, salary range or job title.

Calculation

The widget displays data based on your processed payroll, ie : it does not include employees for whom payroll has never been processed, like new employees.

> how does it work for hourly employees? does it mix with annual ones?

Settings

Click on the cogwheel to select the companies you want to get your data from (only applicable if you have multiple companies on your dashboard).

If some of your employees are paid on a hourly basis while some other are paid on an hourly basis, the widget is going to recalculate the corresponding salaries so that they will be compared on an equivalent basis. For example, if you have only one employee which is paid 70,000 AUD annually, and you want to represent your Workforce summary on an Hourly basis, your total workforce will be:

total hourly workforce = 70,000 AUD / ( 52 * 38 ) = 35.43 AUD

38 is here taken as the default number of hours worked per week, except if you have specified it in your HR application.

If then you have a second employee which is paid on an hourly basis, 30.00 AUD per hour, 25 hours per week, and you want to represent your total workforce on a Yearly basis, the calculation would be:

total yearly workforce = 70,000 AUD + ( 25 * 52 * 30.00 AUD ) = 109,000.00 AUD

Settings

The workforce can be filtered on the chart following 4 different criteria: gender, age range, salary range, or job title.

You can also chose on which period interval you want your workforce calculations to be based on: Yearly, Monthly, Hourly, etc.
